In some parts of Africa freshly cleared forest soils are regarded as highly suitable after they have borne a cereal crop. After the implements have proved to be useful, the prototypes can be given to the manufacturers both in the public as well as in the private sectors and the implements can then be sold through them to the farmers. In Thailand, however, it is grown mostly as a sole crop and the farmer may for ten years or more grow cassava on the same land. Research in agricultural engineering related to farm implements and machinery began at the Allahabad Agricultural Institute, Naini in with Prof. VARIETIES Although cassava is an established commercial crop in many tropical countries and hundreds of varieties are in existence, little is generally known of the nomenclature and identification of varieties.

TABLE 1. She has reached the acme of mass production, and yet she has not been able to abolish unemployment or want. Broader Problems:. Some of them have now been converted into regional centres or have been taken over by the state governments.

However, the next year was a disappointment to Guess due to weak performance in its retail stores, weaknesses in its wholesale division, slower-than-expected non-core Asian licensing revenues, and discontinued licenses. If the will to co-operative effort is created, there is surely ample opportunity for co-operation, division of labour, saving of time and efficiency of work. However, the distinction between them rests upon the content of hydrocyanic acid, which causes toxicity in the roots. A critic objects that the ancient plan is purely individualistic and can never bring about corporate effort.

To present the charging of exorbitant prices for tractors the government has fixed the maximum prices of tractors with the assistance of the Bureau of Cost Accounting in the Ministry of Finance. Either they are swamped by too much paper on site, or they can't find the documents they need, or both.

Multi-purpose implements or tool bars with suitable attachments covering a variety of operations, similar to the bullock drawn tool carrier-cum-farm cart should be developed.

Agricultural mechanization in Ghana

Standardization of components of approved agricultural implements should be done to facilitate their manufacture on a mass scale, to be made available to interested farmers readily and cheaply. Several training institutions and workshops were started to train artisans and mechanics, and in every state a research-cum-testing and training centre for agricultural implements was established.

Take a concrete instance. At one time it was thought that the toxicity of a cassava root was associated with species or variety, but the hydrocyanic acid content was found to vary markedly with growing conditions, soil, moisture, temperature and age of the plant.

A very ambitious programme for joining the Ganga with the Kauveri, via the Mahanadi, the Narmada, the Godavari and the Krishna, is under the consideration of the Central Government and some preliminary work is being carried on.

The cumulative effect of all these steps has been to popularize mechanization and to prepare a sound base for it. There are also incompatibility issues in automating the record systems of records centres in Zimbabwe.

All the endless difficulties and problems that our present-day economic system presents, too, would then come to an end.

Advocates are accused of exaggerating its benefits for agricultural production while the critics are accused of underestimating the new opportunities mechanization can bring or of wanting to turn back the wheels of time. These need to be given attention by both government and private sectors to maximize production.

Irrigation may be required if there is no rain, and hoeing of the earth helps preserve the subsoil humidity, especially in dry sandy soils. However, in others it may be attacked by the following: a Virus diseases.

This view appears to me to be very superficial. Likewise, education and training of farmers and operators are inadequate and still need intensification by both government agencies and machinery firms.

To achieve this objective effectively, the Indian Council of Agricultural Research has now established one research cum-testing and training centre in each state. This has resulted in establishment of a large number about 20, of agricultural implements manufacturing industries in small, medium and large scale sectors.

There would be no unnatural accumulation of hoards in the pockets of the few, and want in the midst of plenty in regard to the rest, as is happening today, for instance, in America. The plant contains a cyanogenetic glucoside called phaseolunatin begins to break down upon harvest into hydrocyanic acid, acetone and glucose by the action of the enzyme linase.

Results of the study showed that average size of farm holdings in Bicol Region ranges one to three hectares only. The whole of the American nation is not benefited by this mass production. The Encyclopedia of World Problems and Human Potential is a unique, experimental research work of the Union of International Associations.

It is currently published as a searchable online platform with profiles of world problems, action strategies, and human values that are interlinked in.

Mechanization in India may have to be done at various levels. Broadly, it can be done in three different ways: I. By introducing the improved agricultural implements on small size holdings to be operated by bullocks.

Agricultural mechanization : issues and policies

II. By using the small tractors, tractor-drawn machines and power tillers on medium. ADVERTISEMENTS: Read this article to learn about the developments of Indian agriculture after independence!

When India became independent inthe agricultural productivity was very low (about 50 million tonnes). The agriculture was mainly rained and was being done as a subsistence farming using mainly animate sources of farm power and traditional tools and equipment’s. Get this from a library!
